چکیده
Long-term afforestation strongly changes the soil’s physicochemical and biological properties. However, underlying mechanism of different tree species driving change in soil nutrients is still unclear long-term dryland plantations Loess Plateau, China. In this study, samples surface (0–20 cm) woody litter were collected from five (?50 years) Caragana korshinskii, Armeniaca sibirica, Populus hopeiensis, Platycladus orientalis, Pinus tabulaeformis a natural grassland, tested for carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium contents, as well sucrase (SC), urease (UE), alkaline phosphorus (ALP) activities. We found that nutrients, enzyme activities, litter’s chemical properties obviously varied among species. C. korshinskii significantly increased TC, organic carbon (OC), total nitrogen (TN), available (AN), (AK) by 28.42%, 56.08%, 57.41%, 107.25%, 10.29%, respectively, also (AP) 18.56%; while P. orientalis decreased TN (38.89%), TP (30.58%), AP (76.39%), TK (8.25%), AK (8.33%), OC (18.01%) AN (1.09%), compared with those grassland. The plantation had higher quality activities than plantation. Moreover, 62.2% variation was explained (LP) ALP more significant positive impact on nutrients. Therefore, species, LP, key factors nutrient succession plantations. nitrogen–phosphorus coupling relationship “litter–enzyme–soil” system revealed improving level promoted cycle ecosystem. Our results suggest leguminous are suitable through regulation

Tree Species Effects on Soil Properties in Experimental Plantations in Tropical Moist Forest
We resampled one of the earliest replicated experimental sites used to investigate the impacts of native tropical tree species on soil properties, to examine longer term effects to 1-m depth. The monodominant stands, established in abandoned pasture in 1988 at La Selva Biological Station, Costa Rica, contained six species, including one exotic, Pinus patula ssp. tecunumanii (Eguiluz & J.P. Perr...
متن کاملSoil nutrients influence spatial distributions of tropical tree species.
The importance of niche vs. neutral assembly mechanisms in structuring tropical tree communities remains an important unsettled question in community ecology [Bell G (2005) Ecology 86:1757-1770]. There is ample evidence that species distributions are determined by soils and habitat factors at landscape (<10(4) km(2)) and regional scales. At local scales (<1 km(2)), however, habitat factors and ...
متن کاملEffects of plant species coexistence on soil enzyme activities and soil microbial community structure under Cd and Pb combined pollution.
The relationship between plant species coexistence and soil microbial communities under heavy metal pollution has attracted much attention in ecology. However, whether plant species coexistence could offset the impacts of heavy metal combined pollution on soil microbial community structure and soil enzymes activities is not well studied. The modified ecological dose model and PCR-RAPD method we...
متن کاملEffects of Wheat Straw Incorporation on the Availability of Soil Nutrients and Enzyme Activities in Semiarid Areas
Soil infertility is the main barrier to dryland agricultural production in China. To provide a basis for the establishment of a soil amelioration technical system for rainfed fields in the semiarid area of northwest China, we conducted a four-year (2007-2011) field experiment to determine the effects of wheat straw incorporation on the arid soil nutrient levels of cropland cultivated with winte...
متن کاملthe effects of cooperative versus individual directed reading thinking activities on students inferential and referential questions
two groups of students were assigned as experimental and control ones, and were given instruction on directed reading-thinking activities and after some treatment, they were post-tested. although the initial pre-test did not show any significant differences, the final post-test result revealed that the cooperative reading comprehension helped the experimental group. the cooperative students’...
